Not Just a Title

From late night waitressing to boardroom management, it has not been a smooth journey navigating the little-known title insurance industry. For many years, Liz Halabu Casselman was laser-focused on starting her title agency, managing employees, getting clients, and acquiring new companies. Frequently facing down her imposter syndrome, she struggled to believe she earned her job positions. It took a last-minute invitation to drive out to an acquaintance’s house to change Liz’s perspective. There, she met with women leaders in the title insurance industry who shared with her all the same triumphs and tribulations she faced every day. Liz decided that day to elevate her altitude and developed a deep desire to guide this industry in the right direction, one that promotes collaboration and empathy. This led to uncomfortable adjustments in her work environment to push that growing edge and make meaningful changes.

Follow Liz as she delves into her personal experiences and struggles, connecting her past trials to present-day growth. Learn to establish professional boundaries, own your voice, and carefully craft your network to provide support and validation in any industry.

What People Are Saying

This book was a fantastic read full of real life examples and applications. As a fellow woman in the title industry, I could relate to so much of what Liz writes about. Liz’s generous spirit and desire to effect positive and lasting change in our industry is evident not only in these pages, but in the way she conducts herself day to day in our shared professional space. I have the privilege of being one of Liz’s “competitors” in our small town and not once have I felt anything but encouraged, championed, and respected by Liz. This book is amazing, just like her.

I'm super impressed with this book. The way you tell several stories each chapter and weave them into a cohesive learning is very well done. There's so many stories and characteristics that you discuss that are super relatable and I think any woman could read this and learn something they could apply to their career.

I am only on page 3 and I feel like crying. I recognize myself in this so far...and the imposter syndrome I feel at work all the time.
Andrea
Definitely geared toward women, but I found some of the management theories interesting. Highlights that stuck out to me, other than the personal knowledge of some of the situations, were the building of small business, understanding all aspects of your company from working all positions leading to being able to relate to their work...

I'm amazed on how much doubt and vulnerability you share, yet you turn around and write a book. I'm so impressed!
Caitlin
I feel it's so applicable to women in any profession because I have dealt with so many of the same struggles.
